F3 Gives Back

​The Madam C.J. Walker Awards honor and celebrate Women of Color who are leading, influencing, and strengthening philanthropy and their communities through fundraising, leadership, and service.

 

Inspired by Madam C.J. Walker’s legacy, the awards recognize leaders whose work is expanding opportunity, increasing visibility, and creating lasting impact across Black and Brown communities.

Each fall, F3 awards a $2,000 leadership investment through the Birgit S. Smith R.I.S.E. Fund Scholarship, honoring Birgit Smith Burton’s legacy of leadership, advocacy, and commitment to advancing Women of Color in philanthropy.

 

The fund supports members pursuing professional credentials such as the CAP or CFRE, attending conferences, and participating in high-impact learning experiences that strengthen leadership, expand career opportunities, and increase visibility within the sector.

More than professional development, the R.I.S.E. Fund is an investment in the long-term growth, leadership, and influence of Women of Color fundraisers.

Each Fall, an F3 member receives a $500 grant for professional development.
